Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2014 - Fashion Week

The Carmen Marc Valvo show was the first of the day for me and all of the photos I took did not begin to do the designs justice so I grabbed these from the Associate Press (Credit: John Minchillo) to share with you.

Design Inspiration: "The crossroads of Constantinople serve as inspiration for a collection resplendent with historical illusion. The opulence of the Ottoman Empire is reflected in a melange of metal-work and mosaics adorning bodices, riding coats and bustiers, creating armor-like protection. Breast plates and shields, crusade ready. A flash of skin through layers of lace seduce and entice. A battlefield emerges with a clash of gunmetal and a flurry of steel. Warrior women are strong, proud and fearless. Ready for battle. Ready for love." --Now that's the poetic justice this collection deserves.
