Hermes for almost 3 decades and has been hailed as an "emblem of French luxury". He began his career as an Assistant Buyer for Bloomingdales before joining the family business in 1964. I personally admired his beginning as a Buyer, maybe because that was the beginning of my career in fashion as well. There's certainly something to be said for working your way up in the industry from the ground up.

Dumas was a visionary! He was able to attract top designers like Jean-Paul Gaultier who reinvented the Hermes women's ready-to-wear collection. Such genius will certainly be missed.
