YES! There is a Santa!

Do you still believe in Santa Claus? I know I do. How else would I be expecting to wake up to lots and lots of wonderfully gift wrapped boxes of clothing, shoes and jewelry under my Christmas tree in this economy?

Seriously, the season isn't all about receiving — it's more about giving, and wouldn't you like to give in a major way that brings out the kid in you? Well, Macy's is calling on believers of all ages to help grant the wishes of local children as a part of the "Believe" campaign in support of area Make-A-Wish chapters.

From now until Christmas Eve, Macy's is encouraging children, teens and yes, even adults to write letters to Santa. If you're in Charlotte, NC, the letters can be dropped off in the Santa Mail letterbox at NorthLake and SouthPark Mall and for each letter received, Macy's will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish foundation up to $1 million. The money raised in Charlotte will support the Central and Western North Carolina chapter of Make-A-Wish (http://www.ncwish.org/) and if you would really like to be one of Santa's Helpers, why not start a letter writing campaign in the office or with your child's classroom? Here's a few ideas for inspiration: http://bit.ly/sIL34H. I've already made my list, so get your pen and paper out and let the wishes flow!

AND...because you're a StyleMayvin fan and I'm in the spirit of giving too, I'm throwing in a $50 gift card to Macy's for one lucky reader! All you need to do to enter the drawing is "like" the StyleMayvin company page on Facebook and post "I still believe in Santa" or post the same message to me on Twitter @therealtstrong and you'll be entered to win $50 just in time to do a little more holiday shopping. Now tell me you love me! xoxo

Contest ends on Sunday 12/11/11 and the winner will be announced on 12/12/11.

Shop Small Saturday

Everyone has their favorite local businesses that they frequent but tomorrow, Saturday 11/26 is a very important day for all of us to "Shop Small". Have you been eyeing a fabulous new necklace, a beautiful pair of shoes, a holiday cocktail dress that fits just right? Well, here's your chance! And don't think showing support to your local stores and boutiques is all about fashion. Of course, that's my first love but tomorrow, decide to do something great for the guy selling flowers at the corner bodega, the lady who owns the local produce market...purchasing one item can make all the difference!

Although Black Friday is over, now is the time to...

See you out there!

Shoe Sale!

I love strolling through the local malls and boutiques because i can always find something I love. The other day i walked in to Saks Off Fifth at Concord Mills mall and to my surprise there was a fabulous shoes sale going on. I thought I would be nice and share the news and not keep all the haute-ness to myself. The sale will continue through Nov. 29. With all ladies shoes at 40 percent off so if you're in Charlotte, I would suggest getting there as soon as possible.

I also spotted the perfect pair of animal print shoes shoes by 5/48, which is actually one of the Saks brands. Animal print, especially leopard, is all the rage this season, so there's no way you can go wrong with these babies priced at $77.99.

Although I rarely wear my Ugg's other than to walk the pooch, I thought these were really cute! You can never go wrong with Jimmy Choo right? And the price really makes me smile...Originally $599, these are now $225.99 PLUS an additional 40% Off!

AMA's Red Carpet

Last night's AMA's were lack luster to say the least. I was expecting to see more big name celebs on the red carpet to fill my fashion cup but...I did really like Jenny McCartney wearing a plum Victoria Beckham dress. I loved everything about this look!

Then for maybe the first time ever, a guy made my top three best dressed! My number two pic... John Legend in head to toe Gucci.

Last is Jennifer Lopez in her award acceptance dress by Zuhair Murad. Love!
