BET Awards 2013 - Day 2

Being a member of the "Media" is a fun job but let's be clear, it's A LOT of work! We do our best to catch all the action, take photos of celebs, network and everything else in between... AND I have to do all of that while still looking stylish. Needless to say, it's complicated but I simply adore every moment of it! And, as you can see taking a break every now and again ain't half bad either...

Welcome to the Ford Hot Spot!

The one thing I love about the BET Awards is people watching and since Ford Motor Company sent me to the #FordHotSpot to cover the activities in their social media lounge at the 2013 BET Awards, I was able to enjoy seeing quite a few people making their own interesting fashion statements.

I can feel the excitement as everyone gets more and more excited about awards day and I'll be in full out Media Mode on the Red Carpet! Follow me on Instagram @StyleMayvin for candid shots and videos and come back here tomorrow for a full review!  Stay tuned...

BET Awards 2013 - Day 1

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes at awards shows? The gifting suites, media lounges and red carpet? Well...I am proud to say that I will be your guide for the next few days so let's get it started!

Ford Motor Company sent me to the #FordHotSpot to cover the activities in their social media lounge at the 2013 BET Awards and day 1...looked a little something like this...

shopbevel - Pop Up Shop

By Staff Writer: Dawn Holloway

Creative people are some of my favorite types of people...mainly because they are creative,  have a very unique way of thinking and the entire StyleMayvin team falls into this category.  Great minds really do think alike!

Having served as an ambassador for ShopBevel during the official launch, T. Strong/StyleMayvin has already put her stamp of approval on this very exciting venture so you know we love it!

The Shopbevel NYC Pop-Up Shop event held at the Sophie Elgort Studio in NY was very jewelry-licious! The two featured designers (Avec New York and Courtneylee Collection) showed fabulous pieces that were right on trend including styles in metallics, bright colored stones and an urban chic feel. Each designer made a very bold and striking statement but had very different styles.

The Avec New York signature style seems to be flower inspired jewelry with traditional colored stones for the accessory obsessed girl who likes something sweet!

While Courtneylee Collection had more brilliant colored stones with a touch of edginess for the rocker chic in you!

All of the features jewelry was really quite striking!

And what event would be complete without a few spirits, super stylish brand ambassadors and a free gift? There were light appetizers plus an assortment of red and whites wines for the palette while you shop for these fabulous pieces! Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

And last but certainly not least...Who's the woman behind the brand?

Courtney McColgan!  She started Shopbevel as a student at Stanford Graduate School for Business, with the desire to bring to the market the best in jewelry design and so far, she's doing an awesome job!

Want to "shop" Shopbevel yourself?  Sure you do! Shop the collection now!
