A Taste Of Nola

Although it doesn't actually feel like it weather wise, spring is finally here and summer is just around the corner so if you're like me, you're already starting to make travel plans. If you're in the Northeast area and even if you're not, I have the perfect event for you! The Lure Group Presents the 2nd Annual Crawfish and Music Festival...because who doesn't love cajun food and music?

For the second year in a row, the “Nola Crawfish King” Shaggy will be boiling over 5,000lbs of crawfish, and Governors Club will feature additional Cajun food, a full bar and craft beer.   Headlining the festival will be the James Brown Dance Party, known as the “funkiest all-star tribute in the business” performing music of the late, great James Brown.  The lineup features music from the James Brown Band (drummer Robert Mousey Thompson), Trey Anastasio band (horn players), Pretty Lights’ trombonist Scott Flynn, and founding brothers Adam Chase and Matthew Chase, and many more!  Rounding out the lineup is Brooklyn-Based PitchBlak Brass Band and three New Orleans based funk bands, Flow Tribe, Trombone Shorty and Papa Mali.

Sounds like a great time right? Well, meet me there! It's all going down on Saturday June 20th starting at 4pm on Governor's Island.
