AMEX On The Red Carpet - CFDA

The CFDA Awards is a fashion fix for those of us who have already started missing all the award show season coverage. Perfect timing right? We've all seen the red carpet photos but here's one that might have gotten past you. The Alexander Wang's Amex Gold dress.
Alexander Wang created the bespoke dress worn by Anna Ewers at the CFDA Awards. The stunning piece was made of more than 500 actual iconic Gold American Express Cards! Amazing right? It's like wearing an unlimited spending account (IF you've got good credit).  He employed a new technique to create a chain mail-like fluid material, an evolution of the chain mail from his Fall 2015 collection.

Alexander was inspired to use American Express Cards because he’s been a Card Member his entire career. It was the first card he ever had, and it is still a part of his personal and professional life today. Ironically, it's the first card I ever had too! I think this says a lot about us both having a great sense of style. *wink*

This collaboration coincides with the refresh of the Amex Gold Card. Introduced nearly 50 years ago, the Gold Card pioneered a new world of credit card benefits and rewards, extending beyond payments and becoming a symbol of status and success.
