Tesla Winter Wonderland

This year's Holiday season had a jolt of excitement at the Affluent Attache' Winter Wonderland Mister Triple X fashion show presented by Tesla. The sexy and elegant charity fashion show featured multiple fashion presentations by Mister Triple X and an opening fashion show by Michael NGO. The event was presented by Tesla Motors in benefit of Children's Hospital LA and produced by Affluent Attache.

Guests were delighted by the decadent desserts by Belladonna Sweets featuring tequila infused strawberries and sinfully delicious treats. During the night models wowed the crowd with a surprise opening presentation by Michael NGO followed by multiple presentations from none other than Mister Triple X by designer Erik Rosete.

Guests came out to the Affluent Attache' event to enjoy the fashion, celebrate the holidays and support Children's Hospital LA. Moreno Sparkling wine was the welcome refreshment of choice by all the chic attendees. Other sponsors and supporters included Let's Hang App, and Whole Life Balance. Title sponsor Tesla Motors displayed a beautiful Model S and provided lucky guests with Tesla Products and complimentary rides.

GUESS Who's Coming For The Holidays?

One of my favorite Holiday brand campaigns this season is GUESS. They did a great job in styling and model selection. The campaign doesn't just say "Hey everyone, Happy Holidays". It says "We're feeling sexy this Holiday season and you should too" and I'm all about that!

Here are a few of my favorite shots. If this doesn't get you in the spirit, I don't know what will!

Serena Williams - SI Sportsperson of the Year

We can all agree that Tennis superstar Serena Williams has been on fire this year! That's why it's no surprise to me (or anyone else for that matter) that she's been named the 2015 Sportsperson of the Year by Sports Illustrated, landing the cover of the magazine shot by Yu Tsai. On the cover, she flaunts her legs while posing on a gold throne in a custom Michael Costello bodysuit. I for one can't wait to see the entire magazine when it's released on December 21st.

Check out this behind the scenes vid and watch Miss Serena go to work...Diva Mode.

Rock Your Natural

Now, and finally... it seems socially acceptable for black models to rock their natural hair on the runway. Either that or these ladies just no longer care about conforming. Sure if designers have a particular hairstyle in mind and is achieveable for a model, why not? But what about those times when it's not or what about just accepting each model for who they are? Sounds weird for that industry but here are seven women who are slowly but surely showing the world that change is good and that wearing their hair unapologetically natural is beautiful too.

Sudanese born model Ajak Deng is the trailblazer who's known for killer bone structure and cropped natural hairstyle. In the past she even went platinum blonde! Deng has walked the runways of Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Balenciaga and other top brands. This natural haired beauty has also starred in campaigns for Calvin Klein, Gap and Louis Vuitton.

A model from Martinique, Karly Loyce, had her first major advertisement when she landed a spot in Celine’s fall 2015 campaign. Sporting an afro, the natural haired beauty has gone on to walk the runway for fashion labels such as Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana.

Dutch model Imaan Hammam has made her natural curls a staple on the runway. In 2015, she landed her own Teen Vogue cover and her star only continues to rise. Hitting the catwalk for Chanel, Valentino and Versace, Imaan stands out with her natural hairstyle.

Angola-born model Maria Borges made headlines when she decided to wear a natural hairstyle on the runway of the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Previously, she wore her hair straight, but it was Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci who requested she cut her hair. And she looks Ah-Maz-Ing!

Sudanese-model Nykhor Paul is known for her short-cropped hairdo. She is another catwalk queen who has walked for leading brands like Reem Acra, Vivienne Westwood and Rick Owens.

Dominican stunner Lineisy Montero is another model who rocks an afro on the runway. She has appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue in 2015 and even landed two Prada campaigns for the same year.

Rock on my natural sistas...Rock on!

Getaway to Canada...Today!

Looking for a fabulous place to go with some friends and have a super awesome time? Consider Canada! Yes, you will need a passport but trust me, the experience will be well worth it! With so much to offer and some of the most amazing food I've ever experienced, if Canada isn't on your list of places to visit in the very near future, it should be.

My readers know I love sharing my experiences, especially the really good ones so I've compiled a pretty decent grouping of photos that I believe accurately tell my "visitors' story". Be sure to look for links to my favorite places so you too can make the trip and experience them too! I would love to share notes...maybe you will find something I didn't.

The trip began with a surprisingly short ride to Toronto on Porter Airlines from Newark International airport. Canada is a lot closer to the NYC area than people might think and Porter is the perfect choice if you're looking for more personalized service (FYI...they serve free wine and it's really good too. Score!).

After getting settled in at the Sheraton Centre Hotel Toronto (my room had a fabulous view too by the way)...
...I attended a movie screening during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). It was great to see Toronto's stylish residents out and about! When at TIFF, you've gotta get a pic!

There are so many great things to know and love about Toronto. One in particular is their appreciation for graffiti. Here it is seen for the art form that it truly is and embraced as such. I suggest you put on your most comfortable walking shoes and go on the Graffiti Walking Tour. Hopefully you get "KitKnows" as your tour guy. He definitely knows his stuff and is a great guide.

You'll be super lucky if you can go to Toronto during the Food & Wine Festival like I did. It was certainly one of the highlights of my trip. And whatever you do, make sure you try the Poutine. You won't be sorry!

And then it was off to Prince Edward County to experience Wine Country Ontario.

If wine and food aren't enough, Ontario has some really amazing views. During your time there, be sure to slow down, take a moment and enjoy.

My trip ended with a stay a Angeline's Inn in Bloomfield. The rooms were unique, beautiful and each had their own stylish personality. This is really the perfect place to enjoy Ontario's Wine Country.

I hope I've inspired you to travel to Canada and enjoy the tastes, sights and sounds. Whether you choose to party in Toronto, chill in "The County" or a combination of both like I did, make sure to pack all of your most fabulous looks. There's always an opportunity for a photo op.

Special thanks to Ontario Tourism for making this such a memorable trip!
