Recently Martone Cycling Co. partnered with iconic American resort wear brand Lilly Pulitzer to announce a bright and very PINK collaboration. The classic Martone style-driven city bike has been reimagined in Lilly’s unapologetically bright pink hue and signature hand painted print Scuba to Cuba for a limited-edition creation that transports urbanites and beach dwellers alike into a dreamy, sunny state of mind.
With a desire to create an instantaneous escape, the inspiration for the Martone Cycling Co. x Lilly Pulitzer collaboration draws upon a whimsical melding of two dichotomous worlds: the city and the beach. For Lilly Pulitzer, Palm Beach is home...a magical playground filled with bright blue skies, endless palm trees, long lunches and poolside parties with close friends. Mesmerized by the brand’s inimitable artistic prints and spirited DNA, Martone envisioned the collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer as a “creation of a tangible medium, a symbolic bridge, that can unite the beauty of these two seemingly opposite places and transport us to a playful, vacation state of mind.
The limited-edition Martone Cycling Co. x Lilly Pulitzer bike consists of a Women’s (size 50cm) distinctive step-thru design in Lillykir royale pink steel alloy with an exclusive printed saddle, punctuated by Martone’s eponymous red chain and lucite pedals. The bicycle also boasts Martone’s signature SRAM 2 speed gear system that shifts gears automatically depending on the terrain – making it equally ideal for both city and beach adventures.
Additionally, a posh removable and collapsible basket tailored in the same Lilly Palm Beach print was created to sit within the specially designed alloy basket built into each handle bar. And who doesn't love a basket attached to their bike? This functional yet fashionable addition doubles as a picnic basket and beach tote, perfect for sandy brunches and poolside afternoons alike.
Bicycles from the Martone Cycling Co. x Lilly Pulitzer collaboration are available now at select Lilly Pulitzer stores across the U.S. including: Palm Beach, New York and King of Prussia.
