Style By Design

Last year for my birthday, I had the awesome opportunity to receive a custom KLE Handbags design made especially for me! The designer, Krystal Ellison, had little to go on with regard to making it because the dress it was to compliment was also being made. That being said, take a look at what a fabulous job the KLE team did!

Amazing right? Well, not only did the bag match perfectly, it also was beautifully crafted as a one-of-a-kind, especially for me!

I've continued to watch the development of this company over the last year and I only see great things for the future. Just look at some of the more recent designs...

Julep!

Yelling "JULEP" is kinda like yelling "BINGO"! I don't know about you but my Julep experience always makes me feel like I totally just won something!

My friends at Julep sent me a few products to play with and I tried but I just couldn't pick a favorite nail polish...I'm serious! All the colors look absolutely awesome and they're right on trend. Don't you agree?

Manicured and beautifully polished nails are the best! I'm simply in love with the Julep collection! The polish goes on smooth, rarely needs a second coat, dries even smoother and its got super staying power! That last fact is really important to me as a busy Mom, Wife and Fashionista. I'm sure some of you know exactly what I mean.

In addition to the polishes, Julep hooked me up with a few additional essentials.

The quick dry polish works great and I just started testing out the hand scrub, age defying hand brightener and nail growth revitalizing serum. So far, so good!

Oh and dont get me started on the Julep Sicilian Orange foot soak! Makes my tootsies very, very happy!

I think I might just have a new beauty regimen!

And finally...I can't forget the eye shadows (Orange and Black glitter) and Bombshell Burgundy nail polish! Thanks Julep! These will surely come in quite handy for Halloween!

Buick Lacrosse - AutomotiveStyle

I absolutely love reviewing cars but I think I may have found my new love in luxury cars.

The Buick LaCrosse is not only beautifully styled. It's also ridiculously comfortable to drive. My husband, who's rarely impressed by the cars I get the opportunity to review, was completely smitten with this one. And although he isn't quite as tall as Shaquille O'Neal, he's a pretty big guy and admitted he would consider purchasing one. He even jokingly mentioned that the seats felt like a recliner chair.

Luxury at it's finest!
From the style perspective, which is how I see everything I review, this particular car reminded me of the Spring/Summer 2013 burgundy suit I saw by the design house of Ermenegildo Zegna during the menswear shows at Milan Fashion Week.

It's sleek, it's sexy yet manly and had just the right amount of street appeal. The information center is beautifully designed and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of the "IntelliLink" system. IntelliLink allows connectivity with smartphones for hands-free or streaming audio functions, as well as access to apps for Pandora! Love that!!!

Another style and design aspect I could certainly appreciate was the inclusion of a third color. Almost like color blocking in a way. Too often people are afraid of color but the inclusion of the automatic ice blue ambient lighting on the dash at night or in darker environments like the Lincoln Tunnel for instance, was a welcome and surprising addition.

My favorite feature? How to find the closest and cheapest fuel! Thanks for seeing the importance of adding that info into the mix Buick!

As I asked the hubby to weigh in on the LaCrosse, he as I mentioned before, said really liked it. His drawback was the door handle placement. Admittedly, it was a bit awkward when exiting the vehicle at first but once I got used to it, I didn't notice too much of a difference.

There's no doubt that Diane von Furstenberg is a legend in the fashion industry and is an icon known for the famous wrap dresses she creates. But...the buck does not stop there. DVF handbags are to die for! Well...only a quick fashion death where you immediately come back to life but a mini death none the less.

BG Anniversary Best Dressed

I just can't seem to get enough of the Bergdorf Goodman 111th Anniversary! But hey...can you blame me?

Thursday evening fashion's finest came out to celebrate so, of course StyleMayvin has to weigh in on the best dressed!

Here are my top three:

Model Karolina Kurkova did the edgy thing in a Roberto Cavalli tuxedo. Loved the slick back hair...she took the look all the way and it was EVERYTHING!

Erin Heatherton in a sheer Jason Wu dress. Wu, was ironically also her date. I seriously may need to place an ad to designers that says "available to attend events for clothing" ie, "will work for clothes!"

And the always lovely Coco Rocha in a dramatic Bordeaux Zac Posen gown rounds out my pick for top 3.

What do you think?

111 Is Not Too Old

One of NYC's most beloved stores, Bergdorf Goodman recently celebrated its 111th Anniversary!

This retail giant is still going strong while introducing the world to new and innovative designs every day so who says an old fabulous dog can't learn new tricks? And teach the young pups a few as well!
If you've ever visited the store in NYC you know exactly what I mean when I say, the first time I actually made a purchase there, I almost felt like royalty. Seriously, for style lovers like me, there's nothing like the first time and it really was an experience I'll never forget.
Shopping online can be just as awesome oddly enough. Try it. You'll see! They've even got a few items picked out especially for this 111th anniversary! One of my favs was the Judith Lieber Pill Box ($595). Apparently, I wasn't the only one because its already sold out! Meanwhile I'm not even a pill taking person but I believe everything should have its own gorgeous place to be stored...yes, even pills.

And...I'm wondering why everything I love is already sold out but these were too awesome not to share! Giuseppe Zanotti BG 111th Anniversary Metallic Strappy Sandal.

Maybe you will have better luck than I...find more of the anniversary offerings HERE.

Longchamp + Elle Magazine

Last night the StyleMayvin team was invited to attend the Longchamp and Elle Magazine event in support of the American Friends of the Louvre (AFL).

As always, a great time was had by all! Especially with the bubbly going around...

and live jazz music by SuNuvo.

The Young Patrons' Circle of AFL chose the perfect place in my opinion to gather for such a worthy cause. The two floor, beautifully designed and merchandised Longchamp store in Manhattan was absolutely stunning!

I've been coveting a Lonchamp bag for years! It really is the perfect "city working girl" carryall bag.

Of course the Limited Edition was one of my favs (above) but my new "must have" is the this one! it converts from a clutch to a carry all and comes in all these fabulous colors!

Thanks to Longchamp and Elle for an evening of mingling and great conversation....and a nice gift bag!

Check out all the fabulous pieces we found!
