Anja Rubik Wears Forever 21

Are you a Forever 21 fan? I've been known to pick out an item or two...mostly basics but for quick turning fashion, it's long been a fan favorite. The new Fall 2014 campaign though, seemingly has it's eyes set on gaining some high fashion cred. Have you seen it? Anja Rubik is the face of the new collection! How's that for bringing the fashion funk? Meanwhile, I'm loving this look...like really, really loving it!

XOXO + Chrissy Teigen

Have you heard about the new collection Chrissy Teigen is doing with XOXO?

Recently, I attended the XOXO launch event in NYC to introduce the collection and of course...what's an event without a couple of drinks...

...and a few shenanigans? I was able to have a little fun with Chrissy, who originally made a name for herself as a Victoria Secret Swimsuit Model and is now the face of XOXO. We all had a blast...as you can see... at The Brickwood and I must say, it's events like this where the celebrity involved actually engages with the guests in a very genuine way that make my job all the more fun.

As for the collection...this is personally my favorite look and yes...I need it!

Check out the Fall 2014 XOXO campaign below! And shop all the looks at Macy's and Macys.com.

Art Hearts Fashion 2014

Over one thousand fashionistas and celebrities attend closing show of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYC to support AIDS awareness and artistically inspired designers.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ended on a high note with the Art Hearts Fashion show at Lincoln Center. One of the largest and most popular events of fashion week, this season’s Art Hearts Fashion fell on the 13th anniversary of September 11th. Appropriately enough the openingin presentation by Erik Rosete’s Mister Triple X Street-wear line started with the star spangled banner leading into an exciting and edgy show featuring a special tribute to 9/11 with war veteran and model Alex Minsky walking down the runway. Other celebrities walking for Mister Triple X included Dancing with the Stars Anna Demidova and fitness models Travis Tardiff and Brock Yurich. Mister Triple X truly did roll the dice in his appropriately entitled collection “Pair-A-Dice” and his gamble paid off. Bringing the first amputee to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week runway not only showed his strong spirit and support of the disabled but also a strong support of our troops and war veterans on this special day.
Control Sector followed opening with Albino model Shawn D. Ross and the evening continued in true spirit with lots of heart proving that beauty can take lots of shapes and forms. The crowd enjoyed the evening as could be seen by all the cheers and applause throughout the presentations. Following was a sleek and sophisticated collection by Hallie Sara, and a great mix of ethnic flair from designers Gregorio Sanchez, Shrekahnth, and Altaf Maaneshia.

MTCostello proved to be a show-stopper with glitter-monsters and cameos from ANTM Winner Jaslene Gonzales and a cameo by Sha’s of Sunset’s Lilly Ghalichi. The finale of the night was a fabulous presentation from designer Furne Amato who’s dressed every celebrity including Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum, and Nicki Minaj to name a few.

This season’s Art Hearts Fashion NYC Edition was a true success and we are very excited for Art Hearts Fashion Los Angeles which will take place as the premier launch event for Fashion Week LA, bringing together an eclectic mix of top designers and artists over the course of 3 days of fashion and fun. October 12th to the 14th will prove to be a true treat for fashion fans on the west coast, as Art Hearts Fashion has now grown to be the most popular Art Fashion Platform in the country. The beautiful new venue Taglyan Complex Hollywood and W Hotel Hollywood will become the future home of Art Hearts Fashion LA, and are sure to be packed with celebrity and fashion fans alike. www.ArtHeartsFashion.com for information and updates.

ELEQT - Membership Has Perks

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to attend an exclusive social network event created by ELEQT, in partnership with the Curaçao Tourist Board, and JetBlue Airways. It was a very strict invitation-only event at The Attic Rooftop & Lounge and included approximately 200 professionals of the fashion industry, international entrepreneurs, and the cities’ movers and shakers. We were all able to escape the busy New York city life for a while, and discover all that the Caribbean has to offer, without having to leave the city.
Invitees were welcomed with a refreshing cocktail upon arrival. A drinks reception with complimentary Iceberg Vodka cocktails got attendees excited about the event. We also got a taste of the Caribbean with chilled coconut water by Vita Coco, and enjoyed refreshing drinks by Little Miracles, a beautiful blend of organic tea and super fruit juice.

The night included Kwame Jackson, one of the stars from the first season of Donald Trump's "The Apprentice", among others. Michael Fredo, American musician and the nephew of Tommy Hilfiger joined the band on stage for a song. Many guests dressed in island chic attire for the "Caribbean" evening, which included live entertainment by Igor Atalita & His Trio, and the resident DJ of The Attic.
Sharin Treurniet, Regional Director ELEQT Caribbean, says: “It was great to see members of our local community mix and mingle with visiting members from Curaçao. ELEQT is all about bringing together affluent and influential individuals from all around the world, and have them share unique experiences at fashionable locations while being surrounded by luxury brands and the latest trends. We had fun, and I hope we got people excited about Curaçao. I’m very much looking forward to welcoming New York-based members to Curaçao during one of our upcoming events on the island.”
Miles Mercera, Marketing & Product Director of CHATA (Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association) continues: “More than an island, Curaçao is a one-of-a-kind holiday destination with beautiful beaches, legendary nightlife, eclectic dining, and an action-packed calendar of events. In addition, the island offers several exciting casinos, along with fine golf courses, plenty of dive sites to explore, and many other attractions. Willemstad's entire city center has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site, and we are delighted to share such rich and unique history with visiting tourists from New York.”

The exclusive event featured jewelery from fashion designer Rebecca Paz who brought a splash of the Caribbean to the USA. A native of Curaçao, Paz began her career in fashion, studying in Milan and Auburn as well as interning at Carolina Herrera in New York. BECK Dutch Caribbean's trademark jewelry pieces are sexy and feminine in a beach-chic vibe.
Event partner JetBlue Airways will launch a new route to Curaçao International Airport (CUR) from JFK International Airport (JFK) on December 2, 2014, providing the only nonstop service from New York. The twice weekly service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Meanwhile since my birthday is coming up in December...I think this would be the perfect destination!

ELEQT’s ‘Business as Unusual’ event was been made possible by BECK Dutch Caribbean, Blue Curaçao, CHATA - Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association, Curaçao Tourism Board, Christo Fifth Avenue, Gcaribbean Magazine, Iceberg Vodka, JetBlue, Little Miracles Tea, The Attic Rooftop & Lounge, and Vita Coco.

Cygalle Healing Spa - BeautySTYLE

BeautySTYLE - By: Joy Nichelle Randall

The trend is skin! Not just any skin…beautiful, glowing, clear, healthy and hydrated skin. This was evident on every runway during NYFW! And I had the awesome opportunity to see just how deep this trend can get at the Erin Fetherston show. Cygalle Healing Spa brought their mobile spa backstage to take the stress out of the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week.
I was so excited to see this backstage! For years, I’ve used hydrating masks on models before photo shoots to plump and hydrate the skin. But this new technology definitely takes it to a whole new level! I mean, who doesn’t want a hot stone facial? Not only is it electric serenity, it allows the hydrating ingredients to penetrate deeper into the layers of the skin. Activating lipid layers, removing toxins and basically in a nutshell giving your skin major life!

Hydrated skin is always best! It speaks for itself. When you look at someone with amazing skin… it speaks to their health and the care they put into themselves. It’s the key to great makeup! Foundation, or any product for that matter, lays smoother and is applied better to skin that is healthy and hydrated. Makeup can only enhance what is already there (the bad and the good). So if the skin is amazing, the makeup will look amazing too! And that was certainly the case at the Erin Featherston show. The models skin truly spoke volumes! Their dewy, radiant complexions were clearly seen from our seats… All the hard work truly paid off on the runway.
I was also excited to see the chic collabo with the designer and Skyn Iceland. What they called the ultimate “surv-eye-val” kit, is truly a unique experience. And they actually work! Pop those babies on for 10 minutes and you look like you had 10 extra hours of sleep! I love it when beauty and fashion come together in a wonderful way. I mean, isn’t that truly what being a woman is all about? In my world, that’s a yes!

Try This!

During NYFW, I had the opportunity to work with a couple of brands who sent over products for me to complete my wardrobe for the week. As always, I enjoy testing out new products and since I know all of my readers love to shop and thoroughly enjoy finding a great deal, I'm sure you will love these as much as I do!

When I attended the launch event for Dee Ocleppo, I wore a fabulous little jumper from LightInTheBox.com.  They offer an array of really cute pieces and they're listed online at beyond afford prices.

I'm a huge fan of accessories so the Philip Stein Horizon Bracelet was a no-brainer! This fashion forward accessory come in a variety of colors with an elegant wave buckle, and feature Philip Stein’s signature Natural Frequency Technology for personal wellness, which helps wearers look, feel and live in tune. The Natural Frequency Technology, which works similar to an antenna, channels the frequencies naturally found in the environment toward our bodies to promote overall wellbeing... and trust me, during Fashion Week it is imperative that your "well being" is first of the list!

The bracelet is the perfect accent for the fashionista who pays close attention to fitness, diet and overall wellness. Starting at $225, the Horizon Collection comes in different styles and colors that can be mixed and matched for a multitude of looks making it easy to coordinate the accessory with each outfit for a personal touch and the best part is, it's available for both men and women.

And finally, what would we do without the constant ability to post any and every NYFW photo from your phone to any of your social media outlets? Well...let's just not find out and thanks to my friends at mophie, I didn't have to. They sent over a gold mophie battery pack and a purple juice pack...so yeah, I was totally stylish from head to toe to technology!

Thanks again to all of my partners this season! Until February...

It's A Guy Thing

He still exists—the rare man of honor with a dash of true grit.  It may seem old-fashioned, but recent research shows that most people think chivalry is still important today and don't you love a man that smells good?!? So let's talk about some of the season's hottest fragrances for men...

Living by a code of modern gallantry, he draws on time-tested values that fit perfectly in today’s world. He is the ultimate “modern cowboy”, who builds, protects, provides, and stands steadfast in any situation. This quintessential American spirit is distilled in new Stetson Caliber... a new fragrance for the modern gentleman.
The Stetson Caliber fragrance opens with notes of sparkling lime and black pepper. The warm heart of the scent contains nutmeg and violet leaf. The Earthy Oakmoss adds depth of character, while the true star is the woody red sequoia note. Embodying the subtle vigor and fervor of the modern cowboy, the Red Sequoia tree gives the fragrance a sexy, masculine finish. ($19, mass retailers)

Nautica LIFE represents the voyage of sailing through life with the ones you love. Refined and seductive, Nautica LIFE was created as a romantic blend of uplifting freshness, mysterious aromatics, and seductive woods.

With notes of Living Sea Salt, marine Seamoss and Natural Violet Leaf, Nautica LIFE unleashes a revitalizing splash of energy while creating a blissful feeling of magnetism and seduction. ($62.50, Macy’s)

EAU DE LACOSTE L.12.12 RED men's cologne was launched by the designer house of LACOSTE in 2012.  This masculine men's fragrance  possesses a blend of ginger, cardamom, black pepper, acacia wood, benzoin and rooibos tea.

FERRARI SCUDERIA BLACK SIGNATURE men's fragrance was launched by the designer house of FERRARI in 2013. This men's cologne possesses a blend of green apple, fizzy grapefruit, star anise, nutmeg, cashmere leather accord, mediterranean freshness, cedarwood, ambery musks, noble vetiver.

John Varvatos  launched a new fragrance for men in 2013 named Artisan Acqua and we still love it today! This is the fifth fragrance of their artisan collection, described by Varvatos: "From the start, we’ve always tried to go back to making fragrances the way they used to be made — all by hand, with the best ingredients in the world, artisanal fragrances with smaller batches.”
Artisan Acqua is a lighter fragrance than its antecedent, the summer version inspired by beaches and seaside charm. Inspired by the Mediterranean, and long walks along the coast. The fragrance opens with notes of mandarin, tangelo (hybrid of tangerine and pomelo) and paradisamide molecule (leaving the impression of tropical fruit notes of guava, grapefruit, rhubarb and currant) accompanied by galbanum, lentic and angelica root. In the heart lie clary sage, lavender, coriander, toscanol, basil, geranium, palmarosa and jasmine sambac on a base of musk, patchouli and fir resin.

Moschino + Barbie

Following last season’s McDonalds themed collection, Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott had his eye on one of the most timeless, iconic "woman" in the world...Barbie. It's clear to see that she's the inspiration for the label’s spring-summer 2015 show. What do you think? Love it or leave it?
