Precious Cargos

Realizing that everything seems to make it's way back around every couple of decades with an added twist makes me wonder just how many of my old personal styles I will see this year. Skinny leg cargo pants are back in "denim form" and what's the hottest colorway? Faded black. Everyone from Rihanna and Hilary Duff, to Khloe Kardashian and Ciara loves the style.

Wanna get this look? Try Taverniti So Jeans ($131) at or my favorite J Brand, "Houlihan" Cargo Skinny pants ($230) available at Bloomingdales. Now if you don't want to spend a lot but you want to "revive" an old pair, find a skilled tailor and see if they can turn your old pair into a shinny new pair by tapering the leg and any other areas so they fit you like a glove.

Bangin Bangles

In the 80's, gold bangles were definitely a trend (Jingling Baby) but personally, I don't think they ever really went out of style. I've had wooden bangles, plastic bangles, gold bangles, silver bangles and the list goes on and on. Although maybe it's not my accessory of choice for a board meeting, I love the sound they make...just one more way to let your stylish presence be seen AND heard!
Yochi's crystal studded, gold plated bangles make a bold statement and add a luxurious feel as the sun catches a glimmer of "bling". Or...go with this season's accessory color trend and choose the Yochi gold plated bangle set in white.

Patterned Skirt - How to wear?

One of this Spring's biggest fashion items is patterned skirts. I love them, especially the short ones!
Leighton Meester (TV Show-Gossip Girl) is sporting a really cute and SHORT Louis Vuitton printed skirt at an event at Henri Bendel in NYC. The shirt and jacket...also LV, completes the look along with Balenciaga heels. Two thumbs up on this look! I could purchase it and wear it exactly as is and I don't say that too often.
So, if you've got great legs and you know how to use 'em, patterned skirts is definitely a look you want to add to your Spring mix!

Beach Ready Body

The last swimsuit purchase I made was a "tan through" Monokini from Vicki's Secret. I would post a pic but a girl has to keep some things to herself! Let's just say I wore it with confidence and I love it still but I've noticed the one-shoulder fashion trend has now moved into swimwear. And my readers know just how much I love the asymmetrical look. Needless to say, I am intrigued, indeed.

Gone are the days of Grandma's one-piece! This stylish Embroidered One-shoulder Swimsuit (above) by Gottex ($198 at is the perfect way to bring style to the beach. The colors alone make me want to dive right off the side of a yacht in Bermuda! "May I have a Gin and Tonic Please?"

Here's another sexy number available at ($74). A white, jeweled one-piece swimsuit is a true classic. I can't imagine that this one would ever go out of style and the turquoise color of the stones put me in such a calm state of mind. All I need now is the sound of crashing waves.

Have you gotten your beach body all tight and firm? Summer is right around the corner...I'm still working on mine!

Most Stylish!

I was recently recognized as one of the Top 5 Most Stylish People in Charlotte, NC! While in search for the perfect dress to show off my style and my 6 lbs lighter curves, I turned to Jaime, owner of Reign Fine Apparel. She's the best in the business!

Readers, if you want to look fab for your special night, Reign Fine Apparel is where you need to go! With over 20 years in the pageant industry and having dressed Miss USA and Mrs North Carolina just to name a few, Jaime's gown and dress collection is by far the most exclusive in the area. Not local to NC? No worries, check out the official website at

So, as I enjoyed the evening and taking photos on the balcony of the Ballantyne Resort overlooking the Golf Course, I thought to myself...Cudos to StyleMayvin but also MAJOR thanks to Charlotte Style Magazine for the recognition, Joy of Flawless Makeup Art for making my makeup simply flawless and to Jaime for making me look like a million bucks!

Fantastic Flow

I'm such a girlie girl...well, most of the time anyway. The point is, I LOVE dresses! Any opportunity to dress up, go out and look pretty...count me in! While in search of a dress to wear to an event I will be attending this weekend, I came across this beautiful flowy dress by BCBG Max Azria. Available at Bloomingdale's, this long pleated chiffon gown ($448) gave me the inspiration I needed to find the perfect dress for me! But you'll have to wait until Monday's post to see that one. *smile*

This particular style of dress is very elegant and perfect for any red carpet event. The skirt fits almost any body type. Just make sure you choose the correct bodice. Whether it's a halter, strapless, flutter sleeve, asymmetrical one-shoulder or thin spaghetti strap, be sure to pick something that truly accentuates you best!

Waist Cinchers

No woman will ever complain about having the illusion of a smaller waistline. Ms. Kim Kardashian seems to be the queen of belts there days! Here's a few styles I've seen her in that are easily repeatable by almost anyone and are sure to make you look fabulous!

1. Gather a blousy dress with a wide studded belt in a stand out color.

2. Dress up a casual 2-piece look with an elastic metal clasp belt.

3. For a night out with the girls, try a thinner belt in a contrasting color paired with a looser dress to bring attention to the waist.

Now, we can't all have a stylist like Ms Kardashian does but it's so simple and easy to create these looks for yourself with the right "guidance" of course. If you need advise on what to wear or how to wear it, email the StyleMayvin with all of your burning questions at

Lovely Lace

Lace makes me feel pretty and dainty. This season, show off your romantic side with this Silk Organza Party Dress from Forever 21 is super cute and affordable! For only $42.80, you can pack in two trends at white and lace. Gotta love a two-for!

I'm such a huge fan of skirts, especially mini's so this one also from Forever 21 really caught my eye. The Pretty in Lace skirt ($24.80) would go perfectly with my new "Destroy Stereotypes" tee. I love the "Dress up/Dress down" look!
